ILLUSTRATION: Who?

Darn it! A blogging blunder. I saved the pieces below under the name Christina Silva and now I can’t find the original link. So I’m sorry to say I cannot attribute them correctly, but I really wanted to post them so…

DRAWING: Intricate And Soft

December 13, 2012

Winter has left the trees stark and bare, which reminded me of these lovely pencil drawings by Miguel Angel Oyarbide.

DRAWING: Scribbles

Camila Leon makes me want to take my pencils out to play! Wonderfully spirited and colourful.

FINE ART:

April 30, 2012

The process that leads to these images sounds intriguing as it involves milk. But I haven’t been able to translate the french clearly to fully understand how Ismail Bahri has created these drawings. Regardless, they are beautiful.

DRAWING: Ink Mesh

March 23, 2012

Drawings, yes drawings! Of hair nets. Ink on Paper by Susie MacMurray. And an ethereal installation of great beauty to boot… using same hair nets.

DRAWING: Infinite Patience

December 13, 2011

I thought I had the disposition for tedious repetitive tasks, especially when it comes to meticulous drawing but I think Miguel Endara beats me hands down! The video shows the time and skill that Endara dedicated to this drawing of his father. See the end product at Laughing Squid.

DRAWING: Layer upon layer

August 10, 2011

I have been quite addicted to looking at photos of Food & Drink on Pinterest over the past few days and was reaching saturation point when I switched to the Art & Architecture boards for an eye-breather. There I saw the work of Brooks Shane Salzwedel. Isn’t it soothing? It’s so misty and soft and atmospheric. And I love the fact that it makes me want to draw. There is nothing nicer than seeing work you admire but that equally inspires.
